The Cheese Cupid – A Cheese and Wine Pairing Guide

Friday, December 12, 2008

I have to admit, I'm a fan of California cheese.  The happy cows and all that (see video, above).  But I stumbled across a site that will be useful for any lover of wine and cheese.  It's the Wisconsin Cheese Cupid site, which does a nice job of showing what cheeses pair well with specific varietals.

One caveat – the site is fairly well dumbed down, relying on lots of eye-catching flash images and audio pronunciation guides instead of informative text.  But the pairings seem reliable, and will likely help you avoid pairing disasters.  For as you likely know by now, wine and cheese pairings are not a slam dunk, and can sometimes be downright offensive.

Know of other wine and cheese guides?  Please share them in the comments section, below.
